Ahead of President Jacob Zuma's State of the Nation address on Thurday, the EFF and the DA are set to square off against the President's legal team in the highest court in the land.

The EFF has also planned an anti-corruption march to the court.

Last week, President Zuma offered to pay some of the money that was spent on non-security upgrades at his Nkandla home, suggesting that the Auditor-General and finance minister determine how much he should pay.

However, both the EFF and the DA rejected his offer, insisting that the Public Protector's recommendations are legally binding.

Public Protector Thuli Madonsela has said no settlement in the Nkandla saga could be reached without the powers of her office being reaffirmed by the highest court in the land.

The EFF has proposed strict deadlines for the determination of how much President Zuma should pay and when he should do so, along with a call for a judicial finding that he breached his oath of office.
