Police in North West have arrested four suspects linked to Monday’s cash-in-transit on the R556 in Mmaditlhokwa.
A group of suspects blew up a cash van and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.
Police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe says two security guards were shot and wounded.
The suspects were arrested a few hours after the robbery.
"Hot on their heels, an intelligence-driven operation led the Brits Trio Task Team and Crime Intelligence Officers to the R511 where they found four suspects travelling in a Hyundai H1,” Mathe says.
“A shootout ensued which led to the arrest of the four suspects who were also found to be in possession of an undisclosed amount of money.
“All four are under police guard in the hospital," says Mathe.
They face charges of attempted murder, possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition and possession of stolen property.
Police have not ruled out making more arrests.
