NW police arrest ‘high-ranking politician’ for wife's murder
Police in the North West have arrested what they describe as a high-ranking politician in connection with the murder of his 31-year-old wife.
The 34-year-old suspect was arrested in Klerksdorp on Friday morning.
National police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe says the woman was killed at the suspect’s home in Kanana Township in November.
The man will appear in the Orkney Magistrate's Court on Monday.
The politician's name is known to Jacaranda FM News, but cannot be published until he has appeared in open court.
