Official in hot water over Joburg billing crisis
Updated | By Suné du Toit
Johannesburg Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Finance Rabelani Dagada says the city has instituted disciplinary steps against a senior official over possible negligence, amid the city's billing crisis.

A massive error at the city's revenue department has seen hundreds of thousands of residents either not receiving their accounts, or receiving incorrect accounts in May.
Dagada says the senior official has been asked to provide reasons why he should not be suspended.
"That's how far we are. He has not yet been suspended," says Dagada.
Dagada says negligence was one of the factors that played a role in the billing crisis.
"That's all information I can give. This is a labour matter."
