One dead in incident on the Garsfontein bridge in Tshwane
Emer-G-Med paramedics have confirmed the death of a male occupant during an incident involving a single vehicle on the Garsfontein Bridge over the N1 in Tshwane.
The paramedics found the deceased with a fatal gunshot wound at the scene early on Wednesday morning.
Emer-G-Med spokesperson Kyle van Reenen says early reports suggest the incident relates to a crime.
"On arrival on scene, multiple security vehicles were found securing the scene as a single light motor vehicle lay on its side.
"Further inspection found a single male occupant in the vehicle with a fatal gunshot wound. He was declared dead on arrival of paramedics.
"Reports from the scene are that the security company were pursuing a suspect when a shootout ensued, resulting in the armed suspect being fatally wounded".
Police are now investigating the incident.
