In Centurion, one man has died after a crash involving three cars on the N14 on Friday.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring says five others were injured during the crash before the R55 in Centurion.

Meiring says paramedics were called to the scene at 04:20 by the fire services.

"Upon arrival, paramedics found the fire services extinguishing a fire that had broken out on a light motor vehicle. Two other vehicles were found in the fast lane against the centre barriers.

"Paramedics assessed one of the men lying outside the vehicle and found that he had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for the man and he was later declared dead," he explains.

One man was found in a critical condition while the four others had sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious.

"It is believed that two vehicles had collided and had come to a stop against the centre barrier. A third vehicle then apparently crashed into the two others moments later," Meiring says.

An investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the collision.

Meanwhile in Meyerton one man was killed and four others seriously injured after a head-on collision.

Meiring says a bakkie and light motor vehicle collided on the R59.
