One person died and two others, a taxi owner and a driver, were injured when gunshots were fired at the Noord taxi rank in the Johannesburg CBD, Gauteng police said on Thursday.
Captain Tsekiso Mofokeng said the taxi violence related incident happened on Wednesday at around 8pm.
”At this stage we are not certain as to how many people opened fire, but witnesses said a man approached a group of people at the taxi rank and started shooting. One bystander was shot dead, a taxi driver and a taxi owner were injured and taken to hospital for treatment,” said Mofokeng.
