Dlamini is spending the weekend behind bars following his arrest on Thursday.

Several supporters were seen setting an EFF flag and other party regalia alight.

The movement claims that Dlamini's arrest was orchestrated by the EFF, and alleges that there is a political conspiracy against their senior members.

Speaking in front of the police station on Saturday, the Patriotic Alliance's Kenny Kunene expressed fears over Dlamini's safety.

Kunene said police arrested illegal immigrants in their numbers and were holding them at the same station where Dlamini is in custody.

"Nhlanhla must be in a single cell alone," Kunene said.

"The cells are getting full and they want to say that you can't be alone and they are putting foreign nationals with him. He is a target.

"Let us spread this message that if anything happens to Nhlanhla at this police station, the investigating officer and the minister of police will be accountable."

Meanwhile the Dudula movement's Zandile Dabula called on supporters to continue their protest at the police station on Sunday, and show their support at court on Monday.

"We will come out in numbers - every movement - Put South Africa First, Alexandra Movement, Operation Dudula, and Sonke will meet and we will continue to do our thing peacefully," Dabula said.

Dlamini is expected to appear in the Roodepoort Magistrate's Court on Monday on charges of housebreaking, theft and malicious damage to property.
