Oscar Pistorius re-sentencing: Day 3
Updated | By Maryke Vermaak
Wednesday is set to be the final day of pre-sentencing procedures in the Oscar Pistorius case and the High Court in Pretoria will hear from the final state witness.
Pistorius has to be re-sentenced after his initial conviction of culpable homicide was overturned to one of murder.
On Tuesday Reeva Steenkamp's father, Barry took to the stand in an emotional testimony, speaking in court for the first time ever.
He explained how Reeva's murder changed him and how he hurts himself to try and feel the pain that his daughter experienced in her final moments.
Steenkamp tearfully described how his wife, June phoned him that morning and asked him to come home.
"...And on my way home I tried to make out what my wife tried to tell me and then I realised that she mentioned Reeva. Driving home I realised more and more that Reeva's been killed," Steenkamp told the court.
There was a media scuffle outside the North Gauteng High Court on Tuesday as Oscar Pistorius left the court.
The court will hear from the final witness with the state indicating that it would be another emotional testimony.
Before the end of the day the state and the defence will deliver their closing arguments.
All that is left then, would be for Judge Thokozile Masipa to determine an appropriate sentence.
