A pedestrian died when he was hit by a car in Southport, north of Port Shepstone on the KwaZulu-Natal south coast, on Saturday night, paramedics said.

Netcare 911 paramedics came across the accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on the R102 in Southport, Netcare 911 spokesperson Athlenda Mathe said on Sunday.
When paramedics stopped at the scene, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) was initiated on the man believed to be in his 40s, who went into cardiac arrest. “Sadly, there was nothing more paramedics could do for the man. The man was declared dead at the scene,” Mathe said.
