Pedestrian killed on N1 on West Rand

 A pedestrian was killed and two other people were injured in a crash on the N1 between 14th Avenue and Gordon Road in Flora Cliff, Johannesburg, on Saturday evening, 

"Shortly after 8pm paramedics from ER24 and several other services arrived on the scene where they found a pedestrian lying in the middle of the road,” ER24 spokesman Werner Vermaak said.

“Five vehicles with damage were also found in the road. It is understood that a vehicle collided with the pedestrian and four other vehicles collided with each other in an attempt to avoid the initial collision.”

Two people from the vehicle that hit the pedestrian were treated for moderate injuries on the scene. They were later transported to Olivedale Clinic for further care.

“Sadly, there was nothing that paramedics could do for the pedestrian and he was declared dead on the scene,” Vermaak said.
