PHOTOS: Scores injured in truck accident
43 people were injured last night after a truck carrying workers overturned on a farm road in Wartburg, KwaZulu Natal.
According to ER24, paramedics found the truck at the bottom of a small embankment.
"The occupants that had been on the back of the truck were found seated all along the embankment," ER24 said in a statement.
"On assessment, paramedics found that 43 people had been injured in this incident. Fortunately no-one had sustained any fatal or serious injuries," they added.
The patients were treated for various injuries and transported to hospital for further treatment.
The cause of the incident will be investigated.
Meanwhile a truck caught fire after being struck by lightening on the R30 between Brandford and Theunissen in the Free State, yesterday.
