PICTURES: Boko Haram destruction in Nigerian village

Amnesty International on Thursday released satellite images of the horrific scale of the Boko Haram attack on Doron Baga, a village in north east Nigeria.
The images were taken on 2 and 7 January.
According to Amnesty International over 3700 structures were damaged and destroyed.
Boko Haram militants also shot and killed hundreds of civilians during the attacks.
Of all the attacks by Boko Haram, this is reported to be the largest and most destructive.

This picture was taken on Friday 2 January. The red parts are densely packed structures and vegetation in Doro Baga.

This picture was taken on Wednesday 7 January after Boko Haram stormed into the village. The red parts show the remaining healthy vegetation and structures.
