Police in Gauteng have arrested 22 wanted rape suspects during the "O kae Molao" operations this week.
Provincial Police spokesperson, Mathapelo Peters, says as it is women's month, officers have focused on apprehending suspects wanted for gender-based violence.
"Police have in different parts of Gauteng successfully traced 535 wanted suspects, 22 of whom are on the list of wanted rape suspects," says Peters.
She adds four suspects were also arrested in the Angelo informal settlement for illegal possession of explosives.
"While seven more were arrested for illegal possession of firearms in Tshwane."
Close to 85 undocumented persons were also apprehended in Boksburg, east of Johannesburg, while in Tshwane, 11 suspects will undergo verification of their current status in the country.
Peters says all arrested suspects in police custody will appear in various courts soon.
