Free State police were on Wednesday looking for the relatives of a homeless man who was beaten to death.

Moshemanegape Petrus Tau, 21, also known as Pepe, was killed in January at Mario taxi rank in Welkom, said Constable Kethabile Mofokeng.
"The man is [being] kept in Welkom government mortuary and nobody has come forward to identify him."
Police urged anyone who might help to trace his relatives to come forward.
Mofokeng said an investigation had been launched to find the people who killed Tau.
"A thorough investigation is being conducted and fingerprints were taken."
