Polokwane water restored
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News / Statement
Water is once again pumping to all areas of Polokwane, after
a technical fault was repaired on Friday night.
Pump Station 3 went down at the Olifantspoort Plant after the recent severe storms in the area and technical teams from Eskom spent days on the repairs.
Polokwane municipal spokesperson, Thipa Selala, says by late on Friday the process was underway to pump water to the affected areas that included the rural areas, parts of the Polokwane CBD and Seshego.
“From last night, it took some time for water to reach the reservoirs because the line was empty,” says Selala.
By early Saturday morning, there was no indication yet how long it would take to fill up the reservoirs.
