The woman died weeks after suffering a miscarriage.
The Gauteng Health Department cannot confirm whether the miscarriage was due to the foodborne illness.

Senior medical adviser for public health programmes, Dr Chika Asomugha, says the woman was admitted to a district hospital two weeks ago, but no tests were done on the stillborn baby.
Asomugha says when she was transferred to the Steve Biko Academic Hospital on 1 December she had already contracted the disease.
"She came with symptoms that include fever, headaches, vomiting and diarrhea. She also had neck stiffness. Listeriosis is a serious but treatable disease that is contracted through eating contaminated food and drinking contaminated water."
The disease has claimed the lives of at least 36 people across the country.
