Pretoria prison inmate contracts Covid-19

The Department of Correctional Services says an inmate at the Kgosi Mampuru prison in Pretoria has been diagnosed with Covid-19.
This takes the total number of cases across the country's correctional facilities to 118.
The Eastern Cape remains the hardest hit, with 34 prison officials and 56 inmates testing positive.
“Key to mention is that the numbers are stagnating as we no longer record more than two cases a day,” says the department’s spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo.
“We’d like to get to a point where there are no new cases altogether.”
The country’s Covid-19 death toll stood at 86 and 4361 confirmed cases on Saturday.
“As the virus spreads within our communities, it is highly likely that our centres will get affected as well,” Nxumalo adds.
