Prominent soccer star nabbed for speeding

A
prominent soccer player has been arrested for clocking 213 km/h on the N1 near
Sandton.
The player was nabbed by Gauteng’s high-speed unit on Sunday.
Gauteng Traffic Police spokesperson Obed Sibasa says the 32-year old was arrested on Sunday morning for excessive speeding.
“It is alleged that the 32-year-old was driving an Audi A6 at the time of the arrest and is a prominent sports star.
“He was charged with reckless or negligent driving, or an alternative charge of driving at an excessive speed above the prescribed legal speed limit. He was detained at Sandton Police Station.”
Sibasa has warned drivers not to try and take advantage of the lockdown regulations by breaking the law.
The suspect will appear in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
