About a thousand people are protesting from Cosmo City to the Mary Fitzgerald Square in the Johannesburg CBD.
According to Johannesburg Metro Police spokesperson Wayne Minnaar, the group is marching to the office of the MEC of Community Safety over crime in the area.
Motorists can expect traffic disruptions in the vicinity of the MEC's office.
"Roads that will be affected in the inner city from 11.00am will be Lillian Ngoyi Street, Sauer Street, Simmonds Street and Rihana Moosa Street," Minaar said.
