Protesting Alexandra residents barricade roads
Updated | By Mmangaliso Khumalo
Johannesburg metro police spokesperson Xolani Fihla has urged motorists to use alternative routes amid Tuesday morning's protests in Alexandra.
It is believed that the community is angry over service delivery issues.
A group of residents took to the streets on Tuesday morning, barricading roads with burning tires.
Affected roads include Far East Bank Drive in Tsutsumani, Alexandra, between Laduma Street and Marlboro Drive.
“Motorists are urged to excise caution and to use alternative routes,” Fihla urged.
