Protests cause havoc on Joburg roads
A community protest wreaked havoc on Johannesburg roads this morning.
A service delivery protest is underway in Davidsonville, west of Johannesburg.
Motorists are being advised to use alternate routes, as protestors barricade roads with burning tyres.
Gauteng traffic police spokesperson Obed Sibasa says: "Main Reef Road is barricaded with burning tyres and rocks. Residents are unable to drive out of the area."
He says traffic is badly affected as you drive from Mogale City to Roodepoort in Johannesburg.
Sibasa says police and traffic officers are on scene.
