According to forecaster, Mksufhulwa Msimanga showers will persist until late morning after which it will become partly cloudy.

Meanwhile various accidents have been reported as a result of the wet roads and poor visibility.

In Tshwane, emergency services were on the scene of a serious accident involving a bus, taxi and three vehicles.

The accident happened on the N14 south in Pretoria earlier on Wednesday morning.

"One patient is still trapped inside a vehicle and emergency services are using the 'jaws of life' to free the patient," Tshwane EMS spokesperson, Johan Pieterse told Jacaranda FM News.

Only one lane is open for traffic on the southbound carriage way while officials were attending to the accident scene.

"We are expecting heavy delays to peak time traffic this morning," Pieterse said.

Authorities were yet to confirm the number of injured in the collision and warned motorists to take care on the roads.
