"Nobody has any right to invade land, violate other people's rights," said Ramaphosa.

Ramaphosa spent the weekend in Soweto and Tshwane encouraging South Africans to register ahead of next year's general elections.

He also visited Olievenhoutbosch in the Centurion area, the same neighbourhood where people started invading a vacant piece of land on Friday.

There has also been an illegal land invasion in the Blue Hills area in Midrand, with people claiming that their local Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) branch leader told them to take a plot.

"That is a clear sign of disorder, clear sign of violating not only the law but other people's rights. We've all agreed that South Africa is a country of rule of law, and all of us agreed that we should not tolerate disorder and lawlessness of that type."
