SA moves up to 9th spot on global list of most Covid-19 infections

South Africa has surpassed the United Kingdom (UK), moving to 9th place on the global list of countries that have the most coronavirus cases.
his was confirmed by worldometres.info on Tuesday.
An increase of 10 496 new Covid-19 cases was recorded in the 24 hours up to Tuesday evening, bringing the total number of cases to 298 292.
According to the daily report by Health Minister Zweli Mkhize, South Africa’s total deaths stand at 4 346.

Gauteng remains the epicentre with 107 070 cases.
The province is followed by the Western Cape at 80 199 and the Eastern Cape at 53 959.
Covid-19 related recoveries now stand at 146 279, with the rate at 49%.
