Updated | By Nokukhanya Mntambo
The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) has appointed Sylvia Tladi as acting chief operation officer.
This comes after Craig Van Rooyen resigned earlier this month, citing personal reasons.
Tladi joined the public broadcaster in 2004 as Manager of Business Accounts.
"This appointment is in line with ensuring business continuity and Ms. Tladi is best suited to act, whilst the organisation finalises the process of appointing a permanent Chief Operations Officer," says SABC spokesperson Vuyo Mthembu.
Mthembu adds that Tladi has a total of 21 years of experience in various business environments.
