SANDF: No meeting to discuss the ANC
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) says none of its members are authorised to discuss issues affecting the African National Congress (ANC).
This comes amid reports of a planned meeting where various serving senior military members will purportedly discuss matters affecting the governing party.
South Africa's top soldier, SA National Defence Force Chief, General Solly Shoke, says the SANDF will have no part in any such meeting.

“General Solly Shoke would like to state categorically without any contradiction and in no uncertain terms that no serving member of the South African National Defence Force will be or has been authorised to attend such purported meetings to discuss petty party-political matters.
“The SANDF remains an organisation which is above politics serving the sovereign security interests of the republic as mandated by the constitution.”
