Internationally acclaimed DJ Nkosinathi Maphumulo, popularly known as Black Coffee, has accused his estranged wife Enhle Mbali Mlothswa of using gender-based violence to prevent him from seeing their children.

The actress has filed for a protection order against the renowned DJ.
She claims her husband of assaulting her at her 33rd birthday dinner at their home.
The 45-year-old took to Twitter on Tuesday, denying the allegations.
Maphumulo says he experienced gender-based violence at a young age and vowed that he would never let it happen again.

"Divorce is never easy, but for us it has been especially painful and I've spent the last 3 years in and out of intense therapy to deal with it privately. I DID NOT ASSAULT HER".
In the name of respect and dignity for my family and my children I've been quiet but now I feel a need to speak.

GBV is major issue in our country, every day we read about horrendous crimes committed by men against women and children.
The Randburg Magistrate's Court heard an application for a protection order, preventing Black Coffee from entering his marital home.
Speaking outside court, Mlothswa said he opened the case against Maphumulo, not only for herself, but for every woman in South Africa.
Judgment in the matter has been reserved.
