Siwaphiwe's mom, co-accused out on R1000 bail
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
The mother of baby Siwaphiwe Mbambo and the woman's boyfriend have been granted bail by the Durban Magistrate's Court.
Sibongile Mbambo and Phumlani Mbokazi made their second court appearance today.
The matter's been postponed to allow for the paternity test to be carried out.
A packed court room 10 waited patiently for Mbambo and Mbokazi to surface from the holding cells this morning.
When they eventually stepped into the dock, both covered their faces while reporters took photos, and the public gallery looked on curiously.
The State said it would not oppose bail - adding that it had also decided to drop the kidnapping charges.
The two now face charges of fraud and defeating the ends of justice.

Mbokazi's legal representative, Andile Dakela, read out an affidavit for his client - revealing that the 26-year-old works as a metered taxi operator, and owns a tuckshop. He also has three children - and no pending cases against him.
Mfanafuthu Biyela - on behalf of Mbambo - told the court she's a teacher and has four children - including the one-month-old baby.
Her husband will pay the R1000 bail.
