The 32-year-old woman appeared in the Parow Magistrates Court on Wednesday where the matter was postponed to 7 June for further consultations.

The woman was was arrested last year in July after local authorities and US officials tracked an online sale she made on the dark web.

The woman was caught red-handed selling naked pictures of her 4-year- old daughter online.

It’s understood the FBI picked up on the sale of the images on the internet.

An agent from Homeland Security acted as a buyer and traced her to Bonteheuwel via geotagging.

But a year on and the case has barely progressed.

The continuous delays in prosecution have worried Bonteheuwel ward councillor Angus McKenzie.

“This is hugely concerning, worrying and most certainly embarrassing that this matter has been allowed to stretch out this long. With no formal trial date agreed upon after more than a year and a half we can all agree now that justice delayed is justice denied.

McKenzie believes the delays are an indictment of the country’s legal system.

“Our government is not serious about GBV, if they were we would see more prosecutions and way more stiffer sentences but sadly we seeing the exact opposite little to no prosecutions and even less meaningful sentences and that's even if the case makes it to trial.

“We have begged, we have pleaded and we have an even implored and yet the community has received nothing. Indeed this is a sad moment for our fight against GBV,” McKenzie added.
