State capture is the elephant in our room: Ramaphosa
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa says he supports the call for a judicial commission of inquiry into allegations of state capture.

Ramaphosa was addressing delegates on day two of Cosatu's 6th Central Committee meeting.
"Challenges that eat us are issues of patronage, the issues of corruption and the issue of the capture of the state by outside interests and unless we address these issues, we will struggle to build a strong and coherent alliance that is supposed to execute the national democratic revolution (NDR)," says Ramaphosa.
ANC NEC members voiced their support for the commission this weekend.
They want it established without delay.
Ramaphosa says state capture is the elephant in the room.
"This decision [to call for a commission of inquiry] is an important decision and the ANC wants this decision to be implemented. It does not want this decision to be put at the bottom of the cupboard. It must be implemented, because this state capture issue is busy eating the ANC away," he says.
