Student accused of Kirsten Kluyts murder back in court
Updated | By Masechaba Sefularo
The student linked to the murder of Sandton jogger Kirsten Kluyts is expected to appear before the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
The 21-year-old was remanded in custody after being denied bail in December.
The man was arrested in November after Kluyts’ lifeless body was found at George Lea Park in Sandton.
He faces charges of premeditated murder, rape and robbery.
The accused maintained his innocence throughout bail proceedings- admitting only to taking and discarding the clothes of the pregnant school teacher.
The 21-year-old from Mpumalanga was caught on camera - wearing the blue T-shirt that Kirsten Kluyts had on moments before her body was found.
The court found the state had proven there was prima facie evidence of premeditated murder and robbery.
