Students call on UNISA to suspend academic activities
Updated | By Samkelo Maseko
UNISA has been given until the end of Monday to suspend all academic activities.

Protesting students marched through the Pretoria CBD shutting down all higher learning institutions, including the University of Pretoria and the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT).
EFF Student Command President Mpho Morolane said they will return to UNISA on Tuesday if academic activities are not suspended immediately.
Meanwhile, UNISA management is meeting this afternoon to discuss the call by protesting students, who were met by security guards at the main campus earlier today.
"Comrades, remembers that we don't take instruction from management. Even when he says they are going to convey a message, it is none of our business. They must know that tomorrow, if it happens that we are here, hell will break loose," Morolane said.
UNISA's Professor Somadoda Fikeni said they will relay the message of free quality higher education to the government.
