Students clash at Wits
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
Tension mounted at Wits on Wednesday when protesting students, who demand free higher education, disrupted a march my students calling for classes to resume.

Students from the 'Take Back Wits' movement planned a silent march, but were confronted by students fighting for free higher education.
Wits management, along with former leaders of the Black Students Society and SRCs on Tuesday, mediated negotiations between student groups to postpone the academic programme.
"Take Back Wits' supporters said they cannot afford to lose weeks of class, while 'Fees Must Fall' supporters argue that their fight is for the greater good.
Private security had to intervene to separate the two opposing groups.
