Suspect shot and killed in Morningside hijacking
A suspect has been shot and killed during an exchange of gunfire between a security guard and a group of hijackers in Morningside, north of Johannesburg.
The security guard opened fire at an unknown number of suspects when he spotted them attempting to hijack a vehicle on Wednesday morning.

The group fled in the stolen vehicle, which was later recovered in Alexandra.
Gauteng police spokesperson Kay Makhubele says the officers are searching for the group.
“Police are searching for the suspects. The getaway vehicle was also hijacked in Sebenza area.”
