Police
in North West have arrested a 20-year-old man in a tavern near Rustenburg in what is believed to have been a gang-related
murder.

Police spokesperson Amanda Funani says the victim was stabbed to death.
“The suspect’s arrest came after he allegedly stabbed a 20-year-old victim with a knife at a local tavern. “
Funani says both the victim and the suspect are believed to be gang members who were involved in a disagreement over gang leadership.
“According to information, the victim and the suspect who are allegedly members of LVK and Money Lovers gangs, had an argument about gang leadership. The victim reportedly took out a knife and stabbed the suspect on the head. “
The suspect allegedly retaliated and subsequently stabbed the victim, who died at the scene.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Koster Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
