Taxi owner killed in Midrand shooting
A taxi owner was killed in a shooting in Midrand on Tuesday afternoon.
Four taxi owners were also injured in the drive-by shooting on the corners of Allendale and Old Pretoria roads, Gauteng police confirm.
Police spokesperson Major Mack Mngomezulu said occupants of a silver Audi opened fire on the victims who were doing patrols.
"The motive for the shooting might be related to recent taxi violence between two taxi associations, fighting over routes," Mngomezulu said.
No passengers were injured.
