Taxi violence at Fourways Mall

There has been a shooting outside Fourways Mall in Johannesburg.

Mall management says there was an incident of taxi violence outside the mall on Thursday.
Fourways Mall's head of marketing Zoe van Onselen says the ordeal happened outside the mall on Fourways Boulevard at around 13:30.
"The police and CPF were on site within minutes. It was contained. Three suspects were arrested," she says.

Van Onselen says it is believed the shooting is as a result of rivalry between two taxi associations.
"There was a conflict that happened earlier today on Main Road and Witkoppen and we believe it is a related incident," she explains.

An investigation has been launched into the shooting.
Police were not immediately available for comment.
