Teen’s decomposed body found in Randfontein

A 25-year-old male has been taken in for questioning by police after the body of a woman was discovered at the Madala Hostel in Randfontein.

Police discovered the body of a 17-year-old women after receiving information about flies and a strong smell coming from one of the rooms.

Spokesperson Carmen Hendricks say the body was found in a decomposing state.

“An inquest is opened because the course of death is uncertain. The body was taken to Roodepoort mortuary for autopsy to confirm the cause of death.”
