Telkom: Three-week workers strike affecting services
Telkom says the more than three-week wage strike by the Communications Workers Union has affected services to its customers.
Members of the CWU have also downed tools over the wage gap, incentives and working conditions.
Talks between Telkom and the CWU on Monday were not successful - with the union claiming the employer didn't table anything while Telkom the network provider insists an offer was out forward.
Telkom's Gugulethu Maqethuka says they remain hopeful of reaching an agreement soon, so employees can return to work.
“The biggest casualties of these acts of sabotage has been our customers. We’ve had incidents where our network has been affected, we’ve had fibre cables being cut, we’ve had copper cables being cut, we’ve had interruptions – and intimidation,” he said.

Earlier this month, the telecommunications provider offered a R500 000 reward to the public, for any information about incidents in which property at its facilities across the country were damaged.
