The case against prison escapee Thabo Bester and his nine accomplices will return to the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
The nine are accused of aiding notorious Facebook rapist and convicted murderer Thabo Bester in his escape from Mangaung Correctional Centre in May last year.
During their previous court appearance, Bester made a virtual appearance while being held at the Kgosi Mampuru prison in Pretoria, while his accomplice Dr Nandipha Magudumana also appeared virtually from the Kroonstad prison, where she is being detained.
Four of the five former G4S employees were also denied bail.
Teboho James Lipholo, Tieho Frans Makhotsa, Motanyane John (Buti) Masukela and Senohe Matsoara were all denied bail.
The court granted bail of R10 000 to Nastassja Jansen.
Meanwhile, the ninth accused Zanda Moyo will be appearing for the second time before the court following his postponement last week.
Moyo is facing charges of fraud, violation of a body, and harbouring an escaped convict.
Last week, Magistrate Moholo Khabisi granted the state prosecutor’s request to have the matter postponed for Moyo to hire a legal representative.
