Yende's body was discovered in her office after she had been missing for two weeks.

The family of the 29-year-old Eskom employee reported her missing on 17 May when she failed to return home from work.

Family spokesperson Mboneni Yende says: "We also went to search her workplace and the bakkie that she used for work was found on the work premises which suggests she made it to work."

When CCTV footage was requested, Eskom said it did not have the footage.

The family says they suspect foul play.

Yende says they have taken it upon themselves to try and get to the bottom of Thembisile's death.

The family has pleaded with the community to join them in a picket outside Eskom tomorrow, where they will demand answers from the power utility.

Gauteng police spokesperson Captain Kay Makhubele confirms police were called to Eskom yesterday.

Eskom employees pointed out an office from which a foul smell was coming.

"Police had to break the door as it was locked. That is when the body of the missing woman was found," Makhubele says.

The cause of Thembisile's death is not yet known and authorities will await the details of the post mortem results.

Police are still investigating the matter.

In a statement, Eskom conveyed its condolences to the Yende family, saying the power utility is working closely with police to establish the circumstances surrounding Thembisile's death.

Eskom Group Executive for Human Resources, Elsie Pule, says Eskom will continue to support the family with counselling and in any other way possible.
