Thousands declare offshore wealth
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
The South African Revenue Service (SARS) says close to 2000 people have voluntarily come forward with details of their offshore accounts.

SARS executive Randall Carolissen was responding to a question on how many people have since come forward following the release of the Panama and Paradise papers.
Carolissen says those who came forward did so through through Special Voluntary Disclosure (VDP).
“We have also realised close to R2billion from those who have come forward”.
“That is just the people who have come forward and we are still having discussions with those who have not come forward yet,” says Carolissen.
