Three arrested after Woodmead robbery

Three men were arrested after robbing a Cash Converters in Woodmead, Johannesburg, on Saturday morning, Gauteng police said.
Three men were arrested after robbing a Cash Converters in Woodmead, Johannesburg, on Saturday morning, Gauteng police said.
The three men were part of a group of around seven men which entered the shop around 10.10am and stole some goods, said Warrant Officer Kay Maphakela.
The men fled in two cars with police, who had been notified of the robbery, giving chase.
A shoot-out followed between the robbers and police.
One of the robbers was wounded in the hand, with police able corner one of the getaway cars.
The wounded man, 25, who was later taken to hospital, and two other robbers, 41 and 26, were arrested, while the other men fled the scene.
From the car, police recovered nine laptops, 19 digital cameras, 17 cellphones, and 12 watches.
The three men were expected to appear in court soon.
