Three suspected 'blue light gang' members nabbed in Ekurhuleni

The Ekurhuleni metro police arrested three suspected bogus cops in Brakpan on Wednesday.

The trio were found with unlicensed firearms and ammunition and traffic and metro police uniforms.
"Officers discovered one unlicensed Glock 45 firearm with the serial number intact, one Glock shape pellet gun, two EMPD reflector jackets, two EMPD trousers, two EMPD shirts , two EMPD caps, one EMPD belt," said metro police spokesperson Ignatius Maphike.
"One dashboard blue light, traffic police stationary, flame resistant personal protective equipment (overalls) with orange reflective jacket, one EMPD and Gauteng traffic police Epaulettes Gauteng traffic police belt and three pairs of boots with two registration plates.
"Upon questioning the suspect who could not provide satisfactory answers to officers lead to the trio arrested on the spot."
They are expected to appear in the Brakpan Magistrate's Court soon.
