Thunderstorms, winds and colder weather looming this week end
Updated | By Sinethemba Madolo
Thunder storms are expected in Gauteng on Saturday and temperatures are expected to drop on Sunday.
South African Weather Services (SAWS) forecaster, Bransby Bulwane, says a cold front is expected to affect weather over the eastern parts of the country.
"Areas like Mpumalanga, Pretoria and surrounding areas will be affected," Bulwane says.
He says temperatures in Gauteng will remain warm for most of Saturday, but the mercury will drop from the evening and into the rest of Sunday.
Afternoon thunderstorms are also expected.
"Especially over the central parts of Gauteng. So we are looking at 60% of thunder showers tomorrow afternoon in parts of Pretoria," adds fellow forecaster, Wayne Venter.
Venter says there is a possibility that these storms could become severe.
"These storms might contain hail and some strong winds," he says.
