The ANC plans on bringing an urgent application for leave to appeal a court ruling that it should vacate the Tlokwe mayoral offices.
This after the North Gauteng High Court on Monday ruled against the ANC's application to nullify the council meeting where DA councillor Anette Combrink was elected on 2 July, following a motion of no confidence in former ANC mayor, Maphetle Maphetle.
According to the court ruling, the DA was supposed to move into their new offices by 10am Tuesday. However, the ANC failed to comply with the court order and Combrink says the DA will let the law run its course.
"We will now wait for confirmation of the appeal. It's up to the judge to grant them the urgency," she said.
"So it means we have to sit around & wait to hear from the court on what's going to happen."
