Tourist robbed at Haenertsburg hotel

Police in Haenertsburg outside Tzaneen in Limpopo have launched a manhunt for a group of suspects who burgled a local hotel.

Police spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe says the suspects managed to break into four rooms.
"It's alleged that about 14 suspects broke into the hotel on Thursday. While inside they broke into four rooms and attempted to break into two other rooms."
Ngoepe says several items belonging to tourists were stolen.
"In one of the rooms a foreign national, a woman in her 40's was found sleeping and robbed of a tablet, binoculars, a camera, cosmetics and travel documents among other things," says Ngoepe.

He says the woman was not harmed during the robbery.

Ngoepe says the woman did not want to submit a statement.
"The victim did not want to submit the statement to enable us to proceed with investigations. But the police investigations are continuing."
