Traffic officers in hot water after ‘eating' money

Two Gauteng traffic officers have been served with pre-suspension letters after a controversial video surfaced online.
The two uniformed officers can be seen dancing to loud music at the boot of their car with their lunch packs filled to the brim with banknotes.
The pair then use the notes to pick at their teeth.
The Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) says the officers will appear before the Chief of Police on Tuesday.
EMPD spokesperson, Wilfred Kgasago says the duo will be afforded an opportunity to provide reasons as to why they should not be suspended.
He says the officers brought the department into disrepute.
"The two officers were identified, located and summoned to the EMPD headquarters where they were served with pre-suspension letters on Friday."

"As soon as the video came to the notice of management, the search for the two traffic wardens was launched and when located they appeared before the Chief of Police who immediately served them with pre-suspension letters,” Kgasago explains.
He says the pair is based at Tokoza Precinct in the EMPD Southern Operational Region.
The Road Traffic Management Corporation’s Simon Zwane says the circumstances surrounding the incident need to be investigated.
