Tropical storm Eloise heading back to SA, warns Weather Service
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
The South African Weather Service says tropical storm Eloise will be heading back to the country on Wednesday.
Weather forecaster Ezekiel Sibeko says Eloise is currently moving over the western parts of Botswana.
While it has lost most of its intensity, it will still lead to heavy rainfall in the western parts of the country.
"Moving forward the remains of this storm are expected to merge with another system and will start having potential heavy rains on the eastern parts of the Northern Cape, North West, the Free State, as well as down to the eastern parts of the Eastern Cape," says Sibeko.
He adds that the South African Weather Service will monitor those areas and weather warning will be issued for the provinces where heavy rain is expected.
The three provinces hardest hit by rain and flooding over the weekend, Limpopo, Mpumalanga and KwaZulu-Natal, are not expected to experience more heavy rain between Wednesday and Friday.
